DreamWorks Pictures is an American film studio which develops, produces and distributes films, video games and TV programming. It is also known as DreamWorks, LLC, DreamWorks SKG, DreamWorks Studios or DW Studios. It has produced more than ten films with box-effice grosses totalling more than $100 million each.
DreamWorks had began in 1994 as an ambitious attempt by media moguls Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen to create a new Hollywood studio of which they own 72%. In December 2005, the founders have agreed to sell the studio to Viacom, parent of Paramount Pictures. The sale was compeleted in February 2006. In 2008, DreamWorks announced its intentions to end it's partnership with Paramount and signed a US $1.5 billion deal to produce films with India's Reliance ADA Group. Reliance provided $325M of equity to fund recreating Steven Spielberg's Dream Works studios as an independent entity. Clark Hallren, former Managing Director of the Entertainment Industries group of J.P Morgan Securities and Alan J. Levine of J.P Morgan Entertainment Advisors led the Reliance team in structuring the capitaland business plan for the company. The movie studio's distribution is 50% owned by Reliance which is led by Anil Ambani.
DreamWorks' animation arm was spun off in 2004 into DreamWorks Animation SKG. It's films were distributed worldwide by Paramount, but the animation studio remained independent of Paramount/Viacom.

Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation is one of the six huge American film studios as of 2010. It is also known as 20th Century Fox, 20th or Fox. It is located in the Century City area os Los Angeles, just west of Beverly Hills, the studio is a subsidiary of News Corporation, the media conglomerate owned by Rupert Murdoch.
The 20th Century Fox was founded on may 31st, 1935 as the result of the merger of Fox Film Corporation, founded by William Fox in 1915, and Twentieth Century Pictures, founded in 1933 by Darryl F. Zanuck, Joseph Schenck, William Goetz and Raymond Griffith.

Universal Pictures is once of the six major movie studios. It was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle and is one of the oldest American movie studios still in continuous production. On May 11, 2004, the controlling stake in the company was sold by Vivendi Universal to General Electric, parent of NBX. The resulting media super-conglomerate was renamed NBC Universal, while Universal Studios Inc. remained the name of the production subsidiary. In addition to owning a sizable film library spanning the earliest decades of cinema to more contemporary works, it also owns a sizable collection of TV shows through it's subsidiary over the years.
