Testing weather the product is successful and that it accomplishes the intended effect:

The product would be tested by viewing it to a number of people, when the product is viewed the pupils may fill out a questionaire. This would tell us weather it is successful or not by hearing different pupils views.

What generic codes and conventions will be operating in your text?

Our group of three, me, Robert and Courtney will introduce the production company, the seting, the main characters, Danny and Leila,  as well as actors. We will show  two sides of the main characters as one is a dark side and the other a bright side. However the bright side will be revealed  more, as the dark side gives the whole film a mysterious theme. To show the bright side wide shots will be mainly used to include the whole image, this is to hide no secrets with a comfortable atmosphere. the Dark side should use extreme close ups, this is to hide the identity of the mystery as well as create tension and discomfort to the audience. The music should be quiet and creapy, leaving the audience confused about the theme of the film. For the bright side of the sequence, a normal house hold should be used as a atmosphere/place. To create and show the dark side of the film small and dark places should be used such as abandoned places, which should create creapy effects. All of this should put romance and thriller across easily, for both male and female genders to be attracted.

Identify any resource constraints that might affect your production and your hopes for your product:

The restraint that  might mostly affect our production would be time, this is because a lot of work needs to be done in little time. The equipment that needs to be used is of course a video camera, following by a tripod , editing facilities props also. All of these are given to us by the school and therefore this is not an issue towards ur production. We would not class money as an issue as our title sequence should be mostly shot at home, also some shots may be made outside in the streets/forests/parks. If team work is fully included our title sequence should work out as planned, this is because every member of our group has a role to complete, which means if every member of group is involved in making the title sequence everything should be done. This means a successful title sequence.

TREATMENT

Narrative

Two completely different lives, of a young girl and a young boy in the city of London. Leila, lives a normal life of a young girl. Which includes looking fabulous, meeting new people, gossip and ofcourse boys. Her life also includes not so exciting things such as college, work, babysitting and cleaning her room. However, opposite to Leilas life, comes Danny. A mysterious, quiet boy who does not come out of 'his closet'. He comes from a silly peoples home. He ended up there after meeting lots of pretty young girls. Danny likes pretty young girls, and now he's after Leila.

Target audience

The target audience should be bothe female and male around the age of 16 and over. The fact of 'Trapped in Love' includes the genres of romance and thriller, this means that female audience would be attracted to the romance and male audience would be attracted to thriller. The fact of 'trapped in Love' being a 16+ film is because the film includes violence which may affect the younger generation.

How do you want them to respond to your product?

The audience should  feel excitement and happyness to begin with as a new relationship begins. However the atmosphere and the emotions during the middle of the film should suddenly change to discomfort as well as tension should be created to the audience as Leila gets hurt and tortured by her loved one. The tension should then drop towards the end of the film as Leila escapes. At the evry end of the film, the audience should feel sadness as well as they should feel releaved, this is because Leila has to kill her loved one but this will keep her unhurt and safe.

How are you going to make it appeal to them?

We will apeal to the audience by making everything look rather realistic, by the use of sounds and make up. Also our film is based on a normal relationship and this would appeal to our audience chosen as real relationships start from the age 16 onwards.

How will you explore the following concepts?

Our film should start of by showing two sides of the film, which would be a dark and a bright side. In the bright side of the film long shots should be used, this is to hide no secrets by showing the audience what is going on around the characters and where they may be. However opposite to long shots, extreme close ups should be used for the dark side to create tension as well as discomfort to the audience, as little space is given. This is also to show the fact of Danny’s secrets as the tight shots hide everything in such as the background surroundings. While Leila is in danger point of view shots should be used to put the audience in her shoes to create more tension. The colours on the bright side should of course be bright and beautiful; this is to show a happy and a perfect life including a perfect relationship. The dark side should include rather dark colours such as blacks, browns, blues and dark reds. These colours added together should create a dangerous and an unpleasant atmosphere. The music should be changing quite regularly as both characters are the main characters of the film, and therefore different music should represent a different character. The music representing Leila should be quite girly and happy as she is just a normal young lady. The music representing Danny should be much different, which may include creepy melodies as Danny has mental issues. Company titles should appear first which will lead to the audience meeting the characters and the actors by their names, which will then lead onto the name of the film, ‘Trapped in Love’.

Institutions

Dream works’ is the distributor that we have chosen for our product, this is because this company is an American company and is very well known. Our production company is called ‘WS Productions’. WS stands for Welling School. We have decided to name it ‘WS Productions’ as we are students from Welling School. The logo is hand drawn and this represents a school, as pens/pencils are used at schools. The colours should be white and black, as black writing on paper is easily visible.

Representation

In our title sequence Leila should be represented as a normal young girl, whom gets on with her life, by meeting people and studying. The representation of the Danny should be completely opposite, which should show scenes such as him stalking pretty ladies, and destroying their photographs. This should let the audience get an idea of him being unique and unpleasant.

Genre

Our title sequence includes Romance as well as Thriller genres. This means that Romance should make people happy in their hearts and Thriller should take the happiness away and turn it into tension. To bring the happiness into the audiences hearts our group will include a happy and an excited girl who is about to fall in love. From that the dark side should take over and show the danger towards the girl, by including dark atmospheres. This then should make the audience feel sorry for the girl whom once has been the happiest girl on earth.
